I’ve been banging on about the upcoming Saturn-Pluto conjunction for months now, starting with an article at Confluence Daily back in April.
It’s been at play for most of 2019, and it will still be in effect for most of 2020.
Some astrologers are writing articles with headlines like “how to survive the Saturn-Pluto conjunction”, and talking in tones of ultra-heavy doom and gloom.
Um….. no. Let’s not do that.
This conjunction does have weight and gravitas to it, for sure.
But if you’re reading articles that only talk about the heaviness – then I‘d like to offer a little relief.
I see this Saturn-Pluto conjunction as a conspiracy which can support you in making your life AWESOME, if you work with it.
At the time of writing, we have a solid two months before the Saturn-Pluto conjunction reaches its peak, which means two things.
First, it’s going to get stronger (though thanks to some other astrology being more supportive, it may feel less like hard slog).
Second, if you haven’t yet started with the core work of building solid foundations for what you want to create next – you still have time!
For anyone who isn’t willing to do the inner work (not YOU, dear reader, but perhaps the people around you) – this dynamic has probably felt confusing AF and really stressful, and that can make people act out in all kinds of peculiar ways.
If you’ve noticed that, it might be helpful to take a deep breath and remember they’re probably not aware of what’s at play. And by all means tactfully send them a link to this article!
I believe that 2020 is going to be an AMAZING year – with a completely different energy from 2019, even though it starts with the good ol’ Saturn Pluto conjunction.
In 2019, we had a LOT of Earth energy, not just the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in earthy Capricorn. And that’s great for making shit real, but somewhat on the heavy side.
In 2020, we get way more Air in the mix and Saturn moves into Aquarius (huzzah!!!) for part of the year. Yay!
We’ll still have the effects of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, through until the end of 2020, but it’s less underground, and the momentum has been building for those who’ve been doing the work (another good reason to start now).
How does the Saturn-Pluto conjunction work?
It happens every thirty-something years, so it has a generational aspect to it.
The dynamic is make-shit-real (Saturn) meets deep transformation (Pluto).
This particular conjunction happens at 22º of Capricorn, so it’s imbued with ambition and the need to take something intangible and make it real and victorious.
Think of it like this.
The Saturn-Pluto conspiracy says that anything with flimsy foundations is not going to survive – whether that’s personal or societal.
It invites us to create something (dynamic career, deep romance, fabulous lifestyle) by starting out with the building of solid, robust foundations.
2019 is the year for building the underground foundations of whatever it is we’re creating next. (And by the way, if you’re reading this and it’s already 2020, you have NOT missed the boat – you can still do this work, and you probably should).
Building stronger foundations includes digging out anything that doesn’t belong there, finding and stabilising any unexpected voids or boggy bits, and setting strong things in place to support the thing we’re building.
Those might be beliefs, thoughts, habits, systems, structures, physical elements, or something else. It might mean healing ancient traumas, either your own or those of a previous generation.
For me, the actual conjunction at 22º Capricorn is exactly on my career point, the cusp of my 10th house. So this was a no-brainer for me.
What have I been working on?
First, I practised getting my energy lined up with what I ACTUALLY want, while putting structures in place to increase my energy overall. That meant a new gym routine, fun backend systems for my business, new magic rituals – and everything in between. These are all either fully in place, or works in progress with a view to completion by 12 January.
At the peak of the conjunction on 12 January 2020, we reach street level – the part of the building which is just visible to passersby, the part of the plant which is emerging from the soil to find the light.
This is why having clear foundations is helpful.
If we built foundations for a carrot, it’s harder to ask it to be an apple tree. If we built foundations for a two-storey home, we can’t easily change it to be a golf course.
And of course we CAN go back and change things (there are no consistency police!). And we will doubtless find things to tweak in our underground foundations, no matter how much work we did back in 2019.
Either way, it’s worth being as prepared as possible by then.
And then throughout 2020 we keep building.
With the addition of some air and light the thing we’re building becomes more and more visible and obvious and clear and solid and flourishing and fully THERE.
For me personally, the impact of this longer, slower astrological phenomenon has been enormous, particularly in my relationship with my own work.
The work I was doing back when I started this coaching and astrology business was incredibly useful.
What’s emerging now is EVEN BETTER!
So my question to you is – what are you building next, and how’s it going?
PS if the answer is anything other than ‘my exciting new thing is THIS!’ and ‘it’s going really well!’ – please consider reaching out for some help. This is my wheelhouse. Astrology to help figure out the what + coaching to make that shit real. Couldn’t be a better match!
